Just another day, today, up at misty dawn, dress in student pleb-wear, vespa to station. Three and a half hours of galaxy and cluster dynamics, followed by the sort of last minute shopping one does before going abroad: little empty bottles, socks, and a power adaptor at Muji. Chanel Paradoxal nail polish (now installed on my toes). A book for plane reading (as recommended by Mr Gibson).
Louche food: veggie burrito from chipotle for late lunch, then a foray into the city where I was plied with red velvet cupcakeness from the new Bea’s of Bloomsbury in the new One New Change shopping centre. It’s all a bit Westfield Manhattan, that. However, being around the corner from our corporate overlords makes it convenient as a dining spot.
I saved the cupcake and took it home for afters, made linguini with a nice sauce from scratch. The cupcake was divine, quite possibly better than Hummingbird, and perhaps even better than Magnolia. I’ll do a taste test Thursday and see. So much for not eating sugar!
Tomorrow we pack, the next day we fly. I’m jonesing for an America fix. There’s a great fuckoff blue diamond on display at the AMNH, along with the Scott Amundsen Antarctic exhibit. Get in.
